The Egyptian Society for Phoniatrics and Logopedics was established once there was a sufficient number of specialists to justify its legal existence. This was in 1976. The society included in its membership: Phoniatricians, Logopedists, Physiotherapists, and Clinical Psychometrists. The first President was Professor Ali El Mofty, Chairperson of ORL Dept. and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University at that time. The society was affiliated to the International Association of Logopedists and Phoniatricians (IALP) in 1977. |
